Opening Feb 1, 2014: Randall Davey Audubon Center & Sanctuary reopens Feb 1, 2014! Great time for bird watchers to visit! Located 2 miles from Pueblo Bonito bed and breakfast inn on Upper Canyon Rd. 135 acres of landscapes and wildlife, bounded by thousands of acres of National Forest and Santa Fe River Watershed land, this Center creates a sanctuary for plants, animals and visitors alike! Approximately 190 species of birds -ranging from common to rare- can be found in or over the various ecosystems of this sanctuary. Weekly Events: 2:00 PM Fridays a Docent-led tour of the historic Randall Davey House, $5.Historic Walks of Santa Fe.- featured on Good Morning America. Historic, cultural Santa Fe tours professionally led provide rich commentary on Santa Fe’s history, cultures, architecture & art. Thru March 15. Cowboys Real and Imagined. Get your Yee-Haw on! An exhibition of artifacts and photographs celebrating southwestern cowboys. Tues- Sun 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. $9 entrance fee. New Mexico History Museum. A 5 minute walk from Pueblo Bonito bed and breakfast inn!
March 17: St Patrick’s Day! What do Irish traditions and Santa Fe have in common? Well, when you find out, please let us know! But we do know that you won’t want to miss this event: 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM The Allan Houser Sculpture Garden offers an opportunity to experience the work of an American Master. Featuring 85 of Houser’s most famous bronze, steel, and original stone sculptures, set amongst lush juniper pines and beautiful New Mexico skies plus an additional 100+ sculptures, drawings and paintings- all works by Allan Houser in an on site gallery. A truly memorable experience to say the least. Appointment only.
April 18: Good Friday Holy Pilgrimage to Chimayo. One of the most important pilgrimage sites in the world is El Sancturario de Chimayo. During Easter weekend, as many as 40,000 people can be seen journeying to El Santuario traveling up to hundreds of miles on foot and carrying crosses. Built in 1813 El Sanctuario is located in the small community of El Potrero just outside of Chimayo, NM- a 20 minute drive from Pueblo Bonito Inn- Santa Fe. World renown for it’s healing powers, this little church is home to the “holy dirt” which thousands have testified to miraculous healings. Many a crutch or child bootie is found hung in a little room next to the alter in the El Sanctuario just in front of the small closet sized room home to the sacred, blessed dirt.
